The impact of taking care away, and how you can help.
The topic of defunding when it comes to Planned Parenthood can be complicated and hard to talk about. To aid you in your understanding and your ability to help other understand, we have attached a simple guide in a question/answer format that explains the issue of defunding and what it would mean for PPWP.
There are sadly some states that have already been successful in defunding Planned Parenthood, giving us a horrifying glimpse into the effects of closing down sexual and reproductive health centers. A brief overview of these effects can be viewed here.
The mission statement of the Guttmacher Institute is

They have released an invaluable amount of research that supports Planned Parenthood’s mission and work. The article "State Facts About Abortion: Pennsylvania"clearly shows the importance of public funding for family planning services within our state.
PPFA has created a toolkit to guide supporters in hosting their own events to advocate and/or fundraise for Planned Parenthood. The toolkit includes information regarding Planned Parenthood’s services, what defunding means, what has happened in states that have defunded Planned Parenthood, how to invite and engage your community, and how to give the proceeds from the event.
If you, or someone you know, would like to share your Planned Parenthood story, there are multiple outlets to do so. There are a plethora of moving stories available right now that truly show the importance of both Planned Parenthood’s work and sexual/reproductive rights in general.
